Cockroach
Cockroaches are one of the main household pests, can survive in very worse condition. There are generally two kinds of cockroaches：German cockroach and American cockroach. The American cockroach is bigger than German cockroach and can fly with wings. German cockroaches cannot fly, they are the most common cockroaches in the family. The first picture is German cockroach, the second one is American cockroach.
Cockroaches are omnivorous insects and can eat various foods, such as bread, rice, cakes, fruits, beverages, grease, leather, paper, books, soap, cotton and wool etc., especially they prefer fragrant, sweet and oily food made by flour. Cockroaches also eat rotten organic matter and even the carcasses of other cockroaches. This omnivorous nature makes cockroaches extremely easy to survive. Cockroaches like to live in places that are warm, humid, with many cracks, and easy to get food. Therefore, kitchens and bathrooms are always the first choice for cockroaches. Water is more important to the survival of cockroaches than food. Cockroaches can survive for 10 to 14 days with water and no food, 9 to 11 days with food and no water, and 5-7 days without water and food. When there is no food and no water, the cockroaches will eat each other, big one eats small one, strong one eats weak one. Cockroaches are afraid of light. During the day, they hide in dark cracks, and come out at night to move, find food and mates. Cockroaches have crawl everywhere, so they can easily spread infected viruses everywhere. Once you find cockroaches at home, they must be eliminated in time.
For the prevention and treatment of cockroaches, we must keep our home clean, especially keep kitchen and toilet clean, put cooked food in closed container. If you see one or a few cockroaches at home, it is likely that your home already has many cockroaches. You can buy cockroach-killing powder or spray from the store, and spray it in the dark and humid crevices where cockroaches frequently stay. The effect of the powder pesticide will last longer. The main ingredients of this pesticide is boric acid or pyrethrin, which is harmful to humans when used for a long time, and cockroaches will develop resistance to this kind of pesticides.
